SIN: Tiong Bahru Hainanese Chicken Rice and Curry Rice [Delivery]

Decent chicken rice and veggie with oyster sauce~

I used to eat chicken rice pretty frequently before my university days, but rarely so these days. It was nice that someone ordered chicken rice when you didn't know what to eat for dinner.

Steamed Chicken Rice S$3.80
Taste: 7.5/10

The steamed chicken was decent, being pretty firm and succulent at the same time. The rice wasn't as fragrant as I thought it'd be though, but the chili was, on top of being quite spicy for my tongue.

Lemon Chicken Rice S$4.50
Taste: 7/10

The breaded chicken cutlet was pretty crunchy without being too oily. There wasn't any lemon sauce though, which was disappointing. Instead, only a wedge of lemon was included inside the packet.

Salad Dough Stick S$4.00
Taste: 6/10

The side dish turned out to be not so appetising as the dough sticks were only slightly crunchy on the exterior. I also felt that there wasn't enough of the sweet mayonnaise.

Oyster Veggie S$3.00
Taste: 7.5/10

The bok choy (Chinese cabbage) was pretty fresh and juicy, cooked with oyster sauce. I really appreciated the crunchy anchovies and sliced red chilis that made the dish not only more enjoyably, but also visually more appealing.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7/10

I wonder if the food served at the Tiong Bahru Market stall is better. Pika's advice: You may want to give their Hainanese Curry Rice a try.
