SIN: The Pizza Place {CLOSED}

A more-than-decent pizza fit for the king!

UPDATE (26/07/2020): The eatery has closed down.

Pretty much a fast food place with ordering done at the counter, The Pizza Place does serve good pizzas according to many. After running an errand nearby, I finally got a chance to try it out with my BFF.

Honeydew couldn't wait to dig into the pretty colourful pizza in front of her. :P

Spinach Salad S$9.80
Taste: 7/10

My BFF and I started the meal with a simple baby spinach salad with cherry tomatoes, olives and crumbled feta cheese. While the leafy greens could be fresher, they were crunchy still. All the ingredients blended well with the tangy balsamic vinaigrette.

Wings (Honey Mustard) S$10.80
Taste: 7/10

Anything with honey mustard should be good, no? Well, it turned out that the sauce was really pleasing to the palate as it was dreamily sweet and a little bit tart without being overwhelmingly rich. However, the chicken wings could definitely be juicier. One of the pieces was unfortunately quite dry.

Aglio Olio Scampi Linguine S$14.80
Taste: 8/10

Tossed with olive oil and lots of garlic to make it aromatic, the linguine was enjoyable, especially since it was pretty much al dente. There were just enough chili bits to give a kick to the tongue. Apart from that, the prawns were done pretty well, retaining their springy texture.

King's Special Pizza (Large) S$36.80
Taste: 8.5/10

It seems that this particular king, whoever he is, prefers white sauce over its tomato counterpart as the base of the pizza. Topped with beef pepperoni, ground beef, button mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes and mozzarella, each slice was bursting with flavours. It was neither too thin nor overly thick with crispy edges.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10
Ambience: 6.5/10
Overall: 7/10

For your information, the regular size of the pizza is 10", while the large one is 14". Pika's advice: There's one pizza variant that's limited in stock everyday, which is Spinach and Ricotta Pizza. Do come down early to avoid disappointment.
