Wednesdays Food Company is a quaint eatery in an oriental shophouse along Jalan Besar, serving all-day brunch dishes. I just found an interesting description by the eatery, which mentions about fulfilling "whatever request [that customers] would like to have ... as long as it's within [their] means. Bacon in your coffee? Sure. Ice cream on your chicken? Even better." :P

Eggs Blackstone S$15.00

Taste: 9/10

Eggs Blackstone is akin to Eggs Benedict, but the former calls for bacon instead of ham that's used to prepare the latter. I really enjoyed the perfectly poached eggs, which were accompanied by crunchy maple-candied bacon strips. The English muffins used were fluffy, while the homemade Hollandaise sauce was creamy without being sickeningly so.

Salmon, Eggs and Toast S$14.00

Taste: 8.5/10

If the Eggs Blackstone is too wet for you, perhaps the less complex toast with eggs and smoked salmon may be a better option. The toast was pretty buttery, certainly a perfect match to the velvety scrambled eggs. Pika's advice: As suggested earlier, you're free to request how you'd like your eggs to be done. 

Grilled Salmon S$19.00

Taste: 8.5/10

Sitting on a bed of freshly fried fries, the grilled salmon was fresh, going well with the butter sauce and herbs sprinkled on top of it. Being adequately firm and aromatic from the grilling process, it retained much of its moisture to my pleasure. The vegetables on the side were quite fresh, drizzled with enough balsamic reduction.

Seafood Aglio Olio S$14.00

Taste: 8.5/10

The garlickly spaghetti was executed well. In addition to being al dente and highly fragrant, it came with a more-than-decent amount of squid, shrimps and mussels for its price. Sprinkled on top of the pasta were herbs and chili flakes that added not only flavours, but also colours to the dish.

I didn't get to try any of the dessert items as my group of friends wanted to go elsewhere for something sweet. Even though its location may not be the best, I'd definitely love to come back for all the food of solid quality.
