TRY: Cakes & Bakes

A place where sweet wins over savoury, I guess...

It was hard to say goodbye to Izmir, but that wasn't the end of the Turkey trip. Before going back to Istanbul, my BFF and I grabbed a quick bite at Cakes & Bakes past the immigration control at Adnan Menderes Airport.

Pasta Mozaik Fistikli ₺13.00 (~S$6.20)
Taste: 7.5/10

It was my virgin experience with the chocolate mosaic cake. It was served a bit chilled, embedded with moist biscuits and pistachios. Overall, it was moderately sweet. I'd prefer it to be slightly less hard though.

Lazanya Bolonez Soslu ₺14.00 (~S$6.65)
Taste: 4.5/10

To try something savoury, we ordered a piece of lasagna that was, unfortunately, dry and obviously not al dente. Moreover, it was slightly burnt at the top. Having said that, it was actually quite flavourful.

Pizza Sebzeli ₺14.00 (~S$6.65)
Taste: 6/10

We knew that we'd be getting refreshment , but we just couldn't stop munching. The last item ordered was the vegetarian pizza that was crispy on the edges, but it could be moister. Somehow I was attracted by the sight of broccoli. Haha...

Melon's Rating
Taste: 6/10
Service: 7.5/10
Overall: 6.5/10

Pika's advice: Perhaps it's better to get their sweet offerings instead of the savoury ones. Thank you for the hospitality, Izmir! Below is a picture I took while I was on the train to the airport.
