SIN: Bakes & Crafts @ Geylang Serai Pasar Malam 2015

Red velvet and pandan churros!

One year has passed since I had my first bite of Ramly Burger @ Geylang Serai Pasar Malam 2014 during the Ramadan season. This year, Bakes & Crafts has decided to set up a stall, whipping up the crowd with unusual churros (Spanish deep-fried ridged snack).

Red Velvet Churros with Cinnamon Sugar S$4.50
Taste: 8/10

Christmas is still five months down the road, but anyway, the red velvet churros has certainly done its job in enlivening the spirit of Ramadan. The so-called donut was crispy on the outside, but pretty velvety inside. While the red velvet taste was mild, the cinnamon sugar was aromatic.

Pandan Churros with Gula Melaka S$4.50
Taste: 7.5/10

The pandan churros was slightly drier than its red velvet counterpart, and the not-so-generous amount of brown sugar syrup certainly didn't help. In a similar way, the pandan aroma was quite mild, but the brown sugar was fragrant.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 7.5/10

The two varieties of churros weren't that special for sure, but definitely worth trying. Pika's advice: I really have no idea whether they'll continue making these unique churros after the Ramadan bazaar ends, so do come down and join the queue if you really want to try them out.
