Thick hamburgers hailing from Malaysia!

Having been successful with more than 30 branches in Malaysia, Fat Cow Palace crossed the causeway to open its first branch here in Singapore. Smacked in the busy Temple Street at Chinatown, it focuses mainly on serving a variety of mouth-watering hamburgers. FYI, the cow soft toy in the picture below belongs to me; it isn't the property of the eatery. One of the friendly servers actually requested to take a picture of me with that. Haha...

Taste: 8.5/10

Be delighted to know that each of the hamburger items comes with broad fries, salad and a choice of soft drink. While the salad was alright, I really enjoyed the light and fluffy fries. Pika's advice: Take note that the set applies only to hamburgers, but not skewers and pasta dishes.

A slightly closer look into the signature hamburger revealed two thick and juicy beef patties, bacon strips, cheese and deep-fried onions. Overall, it was truly meaty, but I felt that it could definitely have more kick in terms of flavours.

Truffle Wild Mixed Mushroom Olio S$21.00

Taste: 9/10

Tossed with olive oil and truffle oil, each forkful of the moreish pasta was an adventure. The delightfully fresh mushrooms were accentuated by crushed black pepper that elevated the level of spiciness to a great extent. The balance of flavours was stunning.

Grilled Chicken Skewer S$18.00

Taste: 8/10

I've seen quite a few good reviews about the skewers, so I decided to try the chicken version. While the white flesh was no doubt juicy with a tinge of herbs, a few parts were overly burnt. It wasn't as good as expected, but it was delicious enough.

While we had to wait for quite some time for the food to arrive as there was only one chef, the dining experience was elevated with the warmth and friendliness exuded by the servers.
