SIN: Peach Garden

Nostalgic watercress honey drink... :3

For someone who stays in People's Park Complex which is just one minute (or less) away from Chinatown MRT station, I've been visiting Chinatown Point very frequently, especially to buy groceries. One mundane day after work, I decided to give Peach Garden, noted for its Cantonese cuisine, a try.

SIN: Outback Steakhouse

Crimson tuna with lots of black pepper!

It'd been a while since I patronised Outback Steakhouse, having an interior designed with the idea of Aboriginal art in mind, back in 2006. It was a blessing in disguise that I didn't get to sit inside, for the cooling breeze outside was really worth it that evening. Anyway, at the end of today's review, I'd like to introduce you to a new friend! :)

SIN: Phố Tâm Anh {CLOSED}

Aromatic turmeric pancake!

UPDATE (05/01/2016): The restaurant has closed down.

I rarely have Vietnamese cuisine here in Singapore, and neither do I know of any highly recommended Vietnamese restaurants around. One evening, while walking around with my BFFs inside Chinatown Point after work, we noticed Phố Tâm Anh as a relatively new restaurant. Since it was already 9pm, we just stepped inside to see what they had to offer to satisfy our grumbling stomachs.

SIN: McDonald's {National Breakfast Day 2014}

Free Egg McMuffins for all!

To celebrate National Breakfast Day 2014, McDonald's Singapore gave away more than 100,000 free Egg McMuffins to its customers across the island just like last year when the campaign started. At around 9am, my BFF and I went down to get ours from the branch at People's Park Complex. As expected, the queue wasn't long, and the person handing out the coupons was still seen with a huge stack of them.

MAS: Bijan

Malay fine dining for the first time!

A Malay word for 'sesame', Bijan opened its doors in September 2003 to provide a Malay fine dining experience to each and every guest. While the restaurant is located not too far away from the main roads of the shopping and entertainment district of Bukit Bintang, it may be a bit challenging to find without a map. We left our map behind in the hotel room, but we managed to find it without having to resort to taking a cab.

MAS: Doraemon Café @ 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo

I need Doraemon's multiplying medicine for the chocolate cake!

Having missed the '100 Years Before the Birth of Doraemon Expo' which took place in HK in 2012, I felt really sad. However, upon hearing that Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia planned to host '100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo', I made it a point to drop by no matter what. After a trip down the memory lane through seeing the gadgets being showcased, I went to the Doraemon Café. Pika's advice: If you haven't gone for the event, remember that 23 March is the last day!
