MAS: Air Mata Kucing Stall @ Petaling Street

Cooling effect of 'cat's tears'!

I'm going to do a very simple review today. The humble air mata kucing (lit. cat's tears) stall located at the junction of Petaling Street and Jalan Hang Lekir has been brewing the ever-popular concoction of dried longans, Monk's fruits (usually known as luo han guo) and rock sugar.

It's said that the stall used to serve the drink in a steel cup, but you won't get to experience this anymore unless you bring your own :P Anyway, no worries, the drink doesn't contain real cat's tears!

Ice Air Mata Kucing RM 1.50 (~S$0.60)
Taste: 8.5/10

I enjoyed the drink till the last drop. While the taste of the Monk's fruits was dominating, one could always chew on the longans which gave out the natural juice that just blended well with the former. It also had just the right degree of sweetness. Pika's advice: For an additional 50 cents, you can get a cup of the drink without ice.

Melon's Rating
Taste: 8.5/10

It was my very first time to try air mata kucing, which is believed to reduce heatiness. Should it be easily available, I'd always get one whenever I feel like I'm going to have a fever.
