About Me

My photo
Hello! Why Cliff(y), you ask? Well, a lot of people I've met since primary school till now have always called me Cliffy! Unless specifically mentioned, I personally paid for whatever chargeable stuff featured in my blogs. Anyway, for every 50 posts I come up with, and every 25,000 pageviews, I'm donating a sum of money to the World Food Programme. Your support is greatly appreciated.

SIN: Yunnan Garden Restaurant

Deep-fried baby squid that went wrong...

Yunnan Garden Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at the Galaxis complex of Fusionopolis. Its history dates back to the 1970s as a cafeteria serving staff and students of Nanyang University, which was eventually merged with University of Singapore to form the current National University of Singapore.

SIN: The Burger Bar by Fatboy's

Locally born burgers that have gone to Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh and Beijing!

Many of my friends have been talking about how good Fatboy's burgers are. Last week, I managed to drop by The Burger Bar by Fatboy's at Far East Plaza, which I think offers a smaller menu. It was pretty hard for me to decide on which burger to try, but since I was with a friend, I could taste two varieties.

SIN: Tomo Izakaya

Bouncy jelly with concentrated plum wine syrup!

A Japanese pub that serves quite a huge variety of dishes and beverages, Tomo Izakaya at Clarke Quay has got an interesting vibe with an eye-catching decoration of a tree made of bottles inside the establishment. One fine Saturday evening, I had an early dinner at around 6.00pm.

SIN: Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

How's the award-winning Taiwanese deep-fried chicken in Singapore?

Hot Star Large Fried Chicken is a well-known snack shop at Shilin Night Market in Taipei, Taiwan that serves huge chicken cutlets sought after by many visitors. It was set up in 1999, but its history actually dates back to 1992 somewhere in Taichung. Does anyone know if the original shop is still operating?

SIN: Teppei Syokudo [Delivery]

DIY seafood don with rice or salad as a base~

A spin-off to the popular Teppei Japanese Restaurant at Orchid Hotel, Teppei Syokudo offers diners the opportunity to customise their own seafood bowl. There are a few branches around, but I'm not sure if all of them offers customisation. The one that definitely does so is at ION Orchard.

SIN: Chock Full of Beans

One random question: Does Rilakkuma like popcorn?

A trip to the east, Changi Village to be exact, brought my BFF and me to Chock Full of Beans. Managed by Redmill Bakery, t's a café serving not only a variety of coffee drinks, but also savoury dishes. For those interested in 2D and/or 3D latte art, you may want to check this place out.

SIN: Pizza Fabbrica

Have you heard of 'nduja' before?

Tucked in the bustling Bussorah Street, Pizza Fabbrica stands itself apart from many restaurants serving mainly Middle Eastern cuisine by whipping up Italian dishes in its cool, minimalist space. From what I've gathered, the restaurant has been around since end 2014.

SIN: Wang Ji 268 Seafood Restaurant

I couldn't stop popping the garlic chicken into my mouth!

Wang Ji 268 Seafood Restaurant used to be at 45 Sims Drive. When I went back after a year to have their delicious garlic chicken dish again, I was surprised to see that it's no longer there. After a quick search online, I'm glad that they're still around, moving to Shan Ding Coffee Shop at 45 Syed Alwi Road.
